The BetOlimp brand is part of the Olimp Group which was established back in 2004. It launched the European-facing site, www.betolimp.com, in 2015 and later came the platform dedicated to South Africa – www.betolimp.co.za. The complete BetOlimp package, in addition to pre-match sports betting, includes a host of live in-play betting markets and the popular lucky numbers games. Its South African operation is registered under OLIMP (Pty) Ltd and it is licenced and regulated by the Western Cape Gambling & Racing Board, which means that it is also bound by the rules set forth by the National Gambling Board and FICA of South Africa.

Website generally runs slowly
Given that ‘Promotions’ are given their own tab along the top of the screen, it’s slightly disappointing that there are only three concessions listed in this section. These include a fairly standard 100% bonus welcome offer, and this is absolutely infested with terms and conditions even down to certain types of deposit method not qualifying for the bonus.
The other two promotions are an accumulator insurance (which unlike some other companies is limited to football) and money back as a free bet if a golf selection fails to make the cut in a given tournament.
For the most part the layout of BetOlimp will be familiar to those who have used betting websites in the past. A sidebar guides customers to different sports within the ‘Sports Betting’ side of the site, while there are links to ‘Live Betting’, ‘Virtuals’, ‘Casino’ and more at the top of the screen for those looking for alternative forms of gambling.
Within each individual sport the matches aren’t especially well laid out. Users are expected to create their own ‘coupon’ rather than browsing conventional match lists, and even once this has been mastered it makes it harder to look at all the matches taking place on one day.
The usual debit and credit card options are available for those wishing to make a deposit or withdrawal from BetOlimp, in addition to online money services such as Skrill and Neteller (though again be careful with these as they can affect qualification for certain promotions).
The only two methods to get in touch with the company for help with a customer service enquiry are live chat and email. Live chat is available 24 hours a day, while the company states it aims to respond to all emails within 24 hours. The link to live chat is available in the bottom right hand corner of the screen at all times.
Like many other European operators BetOlimp is registered in Malta, but has an international feel to it with translations available for the site in both German and Russia. Despite this, in certain countries (including Britain) users are greeted with a message that they can’t access the website due to ‘regulatory reasons’, and are subsequently barred from logging in. This seemingly contradicts the site’s claim to be ‘one of Europe’s leading sports betting operators’, and is particularly puzzling because of a major focus on English domestic football throughout the homepage and football sections.

Though they may not be laid out particularly well, it has to be said the range of markets is fairly comprehensive. The website is lacking in horse and greyhound racing but just about every other major sport is covered, from biathlon to sailing.
It’s not just the different sports offered that is impressive either, it’s also the markets within each fixture. Of course this varies from sport to sport, but for a website that essentially seems to be operating on a fairly small scale the scope is surprising. This extends to the outright markets which are priced up; these are given their own section on the sidebar and stretch as far ahead as the 2020 European Championships.

Live Betting & Streaming – Bet and watch live
As well as an option on the sidebar to filter matches to those that are currently taking place, in-play opportunities can be located through the ‘Live Betting’ button at the top of the page. Again, this section is confusingly laid out with essentially one long list of every single live fixture across various sports.
Things do improve slightly once selecting an individual game, with a basic animation showing what’s happening and statistics also available. As with the pre-match markets though all bets are simply listed below, with no opportunity to filter down more specific types of market.
BetOlimp Live Streaming
Other than the animations shown on screen during in-play matches, there is no video or audio streaming content of which to speak. This can partially be put down to the lack of horse racing markets (with racing obviously taking up a considerable percentage of available streaming content on most betting websites), but is still disappointing and gives the impression that a trick has been missed on this front.
The statistics content is much better, with an area of the site dedicated to facts and figures on a whole array of different teams in different sports. There is also a section of the website for written previews, though this doesn’t seem to be updated all that often.
BetOlimp has a huge variety of betting markets to suit all types of bettors. In addition to this, the options for live and in-play betting are absolutely fantastic.
